Abstract

In this research, the synthesis and characterization of polynorbornene dicarboximides functionalized with fluorinated and thiol groups for their application in gas separation and heavy metal adsorption are reported. The polymerization was carried out via ring-opening metathesis (ROMP) and polymers with glass transition temperatures higher than 160°C were obtained. The polymers were characterized by atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) and gas transport coefficient measurements, among others.
